Ebola Anniversary: Friends Set Up Adadevoh Health Trust

Late Dr. Adadevoh-ameyo-stella
The family and friends of late Ebola heroin, Dr Stella Adadevoh, have set up an initiative in her name called, the Dr Ameyo Stella Adadevoh Health Trust.

The initiative has been designed to help Nigeria to better prepare and plan ahead of any possible infectious disease outbreak in the country.
This is to mark the one year anniversary of the containment of the deadly virus in Nigeria.
Adadevoh was the lead doctor that initiated the diagnosis and restrained the index Ebola case from going into the larger public space and spreading the virus in Nigeria.
Many Nigerians have said that the best way to immortalize those who lost their lives to Ebola in Nigeria and celebrate the survivors is the institution of an effective and efficient disease control mechanisms in most parts of the country, thereby improving and advancing Nigeria’s healthcare system.
It was a trying time for Nigeria and her health system between July 20, 2014 when the Liberian-American, Patrick Sawyer, imported the Ebola virus into the country and October 19 when the spread of the disease ended.
First Consultant Medical Center in Lagos, the hospital where the index case landed, bore the most impact.
Four of the hospital’s doctors and nurses, including late Dr. Stella Adadevoh, lost their lives defending the nation’s public health. The total number of deaths finally stood at eight while 12 other people who were infected survived.

Ebola: Mystery deaths in Sierra Leone spread fear of relapses

Mystery deaths in Sierra Leone spread fear of Ebola relapses
(Reuters)
A poster in Sierra Leone's crumbling coastal capital Freetown proclaims a message from an Ebola survivor called Sulliaman: "I feel 100 percent healthy!" Another beaming survivor Juliana says: "I am one of the safest people to be around!"

Dr. Dan Kelly, founder of non-profit organisation Wellbody Alliance who has worked on Ebola in Sierra Leone, estimates that relapsing Ebola might affect 10 percent of all recovered patients.
He said this was based on two cases, including Cafferkey's, where the live virus was detected among the roughly 20 survivors treated in Europe and the United States. Other experts have declined to give an estimate, saying it is too early to tell.

Doctors at Freetown's 34 Military Hospital said they had seen two Ebola survivors return for treatment weeks after being discharged complaining of respiratory problems, including one this month. Both later died.
Officials at King's Sierra Leone Partnership also confirmed one possible relapse case in a patient with a weakened immune system in Freetown a week after recovery. Sierra Leone's National Ebola Response Centre said further research on such "anomalies" is underway

Super Eagles is a camp not a family house, and it shouldn't be a threat zone for any individual. I have done according to our national anthem. "All my dreams came true in the national team, I dreamt to win Nations Cup for Nigeria after 20-years, I dreamt to played at the World Cup as well as to make a name for myself... In the space of five years, I got them. I'm a winner! "For every dissapointing fans, maybe due to my inability to re-establish my goal scoring instinct for Super Eagles, I will like to say I'm sorry but the ones I had scored counted well for the team. As long as Nigeria remains, you and I will always remember the name 'Emenike'. "Finally, I am happy to make a bow and continue supporting the team everytime. Up Eagles, God Bless Nigeria!
Though it is a surprise but we wish him well
